  • 2. Label Your Rolls

    Write name, order number, and process info or use the downloadable sticker we provide and stick it on the canister.

  • 3. Pack and Ship

    Pad your rolls well in an envelope or box and send them to Astra Darkroom.

  • 4. Linear Processing

    Your rolls run through our linear processor with the highest-grade chemistry in a controlled setting so you get consistent results every time.

  • 5. Scanning

    We scan every negative to high-resolution TIFF and JPEG. A download link lands in your inbox when your scans are ready.

  • 6. Return Negative

    Opted for Return Negative? We'll ship your processed negatives straight back to you.

    Even if you did not opt in - your negatives will be returned to you with your next Astra order.

FAQ

How do I send my film to you?

Pack your rolls securely in a padded envelope or small box. Label each roll clearly with label we provide you. Address will be provided after you place an order. We recommend using a tracked service. We are not
responsible for rolls lost in transit to us.

What does TIFF and JPEG mean and why does it matter?

TIFF is an uncompressed file — full quality, ideal for editing and archiving. JPEG is a
compressed file ideal for sharing and web use.

Can I request push or pull processing?

Yes. Write your push or pull instructions on the sticker we provide and stick it to your roll when you send it in. No need to note it separately in your order.

How are my negatives returned?

If you select the Return negative add on -your negatives are sleeved in archival plastic and returned with your order. Even if you did not select return negative, we will be shipping it back to you with your next order at Astra Store.

Do you offer scan-only services?

Yes. If you have already developed negatives that need scanning, you can scroll up above to the Scanning Section and place an order.

What if my film is damaged during processing?

We take every precaution with your film. In the rare event of processing damage, our liability
is limited to the replacement cost of the unexposed film and processing.

What film formats do you accept?

35mm and 120 medium format.

How will I receive my scans?

Scans are delivered digitally. You will receive a notification on your email when your files are ready.
